Let me introduce myself...

What's this?!  Another food blog?!  Yes, yes it is.  But this isn't going to be just any food blog.  For one, it's only going to focus on baking.  And candy making.  And frozen stuff...like ice cream.  Basically, desserts.  And another reason is because this is going to be a huge learning experience for myself.  I've never worked in the food industry, either as a chef or baker or critic or server or busser.  I feel as though I know nothing, other than I love food. 

So who am I?  I'm just an average twenty something year old, already did the college thing, lived with the parents after college, and got a job.  A job that actually follows my college major...shocking, I know.  And I'm happy!  I have a great career, two adorable cats, and I compete in an awesome sport.  But one thing keeps calling to me...my kitchen.  For me, baking is the ultimate stress relief.  And food has this way of making people happy...and I enjoy creating things that make people happy!  So this blog is about me practicing, experimenting, tasting, and expanding my skill and knowledge in the pastry world.  I'll be posting about my favorite recipes, cookbooks, kitchen tools, photos of my creations, and maybe even some videos.  My name is Rachel, and here is my journey towards being a pastry chef!
